A Memorial for Oscar Myer

a Pet Memorial for Oscar Myer

Jan. 2000 - July 2009

During the holidays, I've missed Oscar so much and thought about him often. I was so lucky to have him in my life and wish that he could have stayed longer. He was such a good boy and always liked getting new toys for Christmas. He just didn't like it when I'd dress him up in a Santa suit or put a hat on him for his birthday in January. He brought so much joy and entertainment to my life that I'm missing him now more than ever. Rest in peace with no more pain or sickness and know that all of us miss you terribly. We love you!

A Memorial for Sunny

Sunny

Sunny our beloved feline companion of 16 years slipped into sleep on October 27, 2009.

Sunny was adopted by Frank and Doris Chlastak on a hot summer day in Hot Springs, Arkansas.   Frank had just come home from a church camp and they had gone out in the morning to a local store. As they passed by a store Frank said, “
Did you see that?”  To which Doris responded, “See what?”It was a sign for free abandoned and abused kittens. Doris had seen the sign and had pretended to ignore it. She had wanted a child for a long time.

We stopped; Doris got out and went to see this kitten. She brought him over to the car and I held him. I simply said, “
We’ll take him.”  Sunny instantly became a part of our family.   The first night he woke us up at 4:30 a.m. We told him to go back to sleep and he never woke us up again that early.   Sunny has played in the Arkansas snow, chased Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs in our kitchen, sojourned to Oklahoma and enjoyed the soft grass of NW Missouri. Sunny enjoyed cozying up in a comfy lap and he always loved to sit in the warmth of the sun by a window. He was the sunshine of our lives, hence his name.

Over his 16 years he has loved us unconditionally, just asking only for a hug and a kiss on the forehead now and then. He was a certified “
Mouser”€ when he caught them he would toss them up in the air and play with them. He taught that skill to his two adopted childrenSammi Jo” andGoldie” whose mom abandoned them after birth.

We will miss Sunny, but he we always remain in our hearts.

A Memorial for Kaddy

a Pet Memorial for Kaddy

On Sunday, March 22, 2009 we lost our baby girl Kaddy, who succumbed to congestive heart failure. She died 3 months short of her 13th birthday and as much as we all wanted her to live forever, 12.8 years is pretty good for a Bulldog. We are all heart broken and miss her terribly. She was one-of-a-kind who touched us all. She was a sweetheart who was loved by all who met her. She was as kind and loving a creature that ever walked this earth.

She never suffered, never lost her will to live, or her spirit, enthusiasm, playfulness, and desire to be with us. That all changed the last week when she stopped eating and just wasn't the same old Kaddy. On Sunday she was in distress and she gave us "the look." It killed my husband and I to have to put her to sleep - we were wistful in hoping she would die of old age one night in her sleep, but not naive to think we wouldn't do what was right by her. She was everything to us and we miss her terribly. Our home is empty and lonely without her. We bought her back in 1996 when she was 10 weeks old from a family in Petal, MS.  Looking back we believe it was fate that brought her to us as we poured every ounce of love and care into her so she could have a great life.  She brought us so much love, joy and happiness - she changed our lives and us forever. She was not just a dog but a special member of our family. Goodbye sweet Kaddy, we love and miss you.

 Rest in Peace Kaddy
