How to Measure you Pet for a Casket

For pet lovers, the loss of their beloved companion will be one of the saddest times they will ever experience.  Certainly a time to grieve, but you will also need to make decisions on what to do with the remains.  

If you decide to bury your pet, here are some thoughts on measuring correctly to purchase a casket.
  • Do not go by breed or weight, dimensions can differ greatly.
  • Best to measure (if you can) while your pet is standing, but lying down will be sufficient.
  • Length = from tip of the nose to the base of the tail.
  • Width = from the top of the back to the knee joint.
  • Height = from top of pets side to the floor or measure across the shoulders.
